Campagnolo Record/Super Record Direct Mount Upper Rear Brake Calliper 12-Speed

Thanks to its self-balancing design, this new braking system from Campagnolo provides fully symmetrical and efficient brake actuation.

Its extremely rigid structure also gives the new Campagnolo Direct Mount brakes superior braking power, while the design elements inspired by the brake's aerodynamic shape are enhanced by the new closed structure of its brake arms.

Alongside outright performance, great attention has also been paid to ease of use and adjustment. The aim was to make the Campagnolo brake easier to install and more intuitive and straightforward to adjust than any other model available. This was made possible by the rigid structure at the rear of the brake, which allows quick installation without additional external braces, even on the slimmest seatstays.

Features

• Compatibility with 28 mm tyres: The brake structure allows 28 mm tyres to be fitted on both C17 and C19 rims.
• Dual Pivot brakes: The only specification also offered on the rear brake that provides more powerful braking than a single-pivot brake, especially when the pads are positioned close to the braking surface.
• Rigid structure at the rear of the brake: Reinforcement at the rear means no additional accessories are needed to fit the Campagnolo Direct Mount brake securely.
• Aerodynamic design: The front brake arm is closed for improved aerodynamic performance and better integration with aero frames.
• Brake arms pivot on bearings: Maximum smoothness and durability, even after years of use.
• Brake pad holders with the exclusive brake pad insertion and removal system.
• Actual weight: 172 g (per brake).

Founded in Vicenza in 1933 by Tullio Campagnolo, Campagnolo is still based in the Italian city and makes groupsets and wheels for road and gravel bikes. Its history also includes the wheel quick release, a mechanism the company refined to allow the wheel to be removed without tools.
