Shimano GRX BR-RX820 disc brake calliper
The GRX BR-RX820 hydraulic calliper delivers superior braking power on challenging terrain. Improved modulation and a quicker bite point give gravel riders a completely new sense of control. In addition, the
Dual Control Lever (DCL) | The Shimano DCL levers combine braking and shifting functions in a single control unit for easy, comfortable operation. Their innovative ergonomics are even more important than adding further gears when it comes to raising performance standards. The highlight of the STI (Shimano Total Integration) controls, however, is the ability to shift both front and rear gears with a single finger. Dual Control levers achieve this through extremely precise, smooth operation and the same stability for which Shimano's MTB technologies are already known.
SERVO WAVE | As the brake lever takes up a large amount of travel at the start of its movement, the brake pads contact the brake rotor more quickly, leaving more lever travel available to modulate braking force. As a result, SERVOWAVE braking systems feature a faster response, higher performance and shorter free travel.
J-Kit (Easy Hose Joint System) | In braking systems with a J-Kit brake hose connection, the brake lever has an integrated seal (olive), which makes the brake hose easier to install and remove.
Ice Technologies | To maintain consistently high braking performance during prolonged, uninterrupted use, Shimano developed Ice-Tech cooling technology for brake rotors and pads. Brake pads with Ice Technologies have aluminium cooling fins that dissipate heat more effectively. Combined with the brake rotor's optimised heat radiation characteristics, this extends pad life while minimising noise and brake fade.

Founded in 1921 in Sakai, Japan, by Shozaburo Shimano, Shimano is still based in the same city today. For cyclists, it makes drivetrains, brakes, wheels, pedals and cycling shoes. Its history in bicycle components began with the production of freewheels in 1922.
