3C MAXXGRIP
The Maxxis 3C MaxxGrip compound uses the stickiest, slowest-rebounding rubber we offer in a mountain bike tyre. This high-traction compound is the same one used by our top Downhill World Cup and Enduro World Series athletes and is now available in a variety of casing configurations to suit all riders.
TUBELESS READY
Tubeless ready tyres offer riders numerous advantages: the ability to run lower air pressures for improved traction; lower rolling resistance than a tyre with an inner tube; and less chance of a flat because there is no inner tube. Tubeless ready tyres are marked with the letters "TR" on the sidewall.
Tubeless ready tyres must be fitted to tubeless-compatible rims and require liquid sealant to maintain pressure. Liquid sealants have the added benefit of sealing small punctures. Make sure you check the sealant regularly and replenish it as needed, as it will dry out over time.
WIDE TRAIL
Wide Trail (WT) construction optimises the tyre's tread layout and profile on today's wider rims. Traditional tyres are designed around older, narrower rims and can create an overly square tyre profile, leading to less than optimal performance. WT tyres are optimised for an internal rim width of 35 mm, but have been shown to work across internal rim widths of 30-35 mm, depending on rider preference.
DH CASING
The Maxxis DH Casing for MTB downhill tyres consists of two layers of 60tpi fabric with a rubber coating running from bead to bead, providing additional protection and lateral stiffness for enduro and downhill use. An additional layer of butyl rubber in the bead area protects the rim edges and adds sidewall stability.
