3D-printed padding

The evolution of digital 3D printing has enabled us to develop a new saddle without the constraints or limitations imposed by traditional production methods and materials. Adaptive saddle padding is made by Carbon using its revolutionary Digital Light Synthesis technology. DLS is an additive manufacturing process that uses digital ultraviolet light projection, oxygen-permeable optics and programmable liquid resins to produce parts with excellent mechanical properties, resolution and surface finish.

Tailored zonal cushioning

Using Carbon technology, biomechanists and engineers have an unprecedented opportunity: to design and create multiple functional zones within the saddle, tuning each one separately for specific mechanical properties. Each of these key functional zones is designed for distinctive cushioning and mechanical response, progressively and seamlessly joined within the same padding. The result? A 60% reduction in peak pressure through better weight distribution for greater comfort across the entire saddle surface.

Argo for all roads

Our most versatile saddle shape, Argo, is at home on a variety of bike types and surfaces. Whether rolling on smooth tarmac or navigating technical terrain, Argo is designed to help cyclists find a better posture, placing them in a more planted position for greater stability and better weight distribution. The shorter design with a dropped nose also provides superior support when adopting a powerful, aerodynamic pedalling position.

Design, test, ride

To develop the ideal adaptive comfort zones, we studied the different riding positions and pressure points of professional and amateur cyclists, both in the fizik laboratories and on open roads, gravel tracks and trails. At every stage of development, new iterations were carefully tested, with particular attention to understanding how pressure patterns change with different bike geometries, riding positions and surface types.

Long-lasting performance

The saddle is very easy to clean. Even with the dirtiest road mud, gravel dust or trail spray, all you need to do is wash it with water. Everything that goes in comes out. We subjected it to the toughest tests, simulating accelerated ageing, UV ageing and wear resistance under strict protocols.
