Caffélatex is available in 1000 or 250 ml bottles. The bottles have a flexible tube so the sealant can be injected directly through the valve.

Very fast puncture sealing

A secret blend of liquid synthetic polymers gives Caffélatex its “latex-like” behaviour, becoming solid when exposed to rapid evaporation and sealing holes in the process. We have improved this behaviour by adding a precise percentage of microscopic silica particles (less than 2 microns, 0.002 mm), so that Caffélatex moves slowly through holes, giving it more time to seal the puncture.

Fast puncture sealing is particularly useful with lightweight tyres or tyres with thin casings, making Caffélatex ideal for performance-focused cyclists, for road and off-road cycling, with tubeless tyres, tubular tyres and inner tubes. Caffélatex seals holes up to 5 mm (off-road tubeless tyres) and 3 mm (road tubeless tyres).

Foaming action activated by wheel movement

While developing Caffélatex and its formula, we discovered that foaming behaviour (changing from liquid to foam when agitated, activated by wheel movement) offered a major advantage in terms of distribution inside the tyre cavity.

When the wheels turn, centrifugal force pushes traditional liquid sealants towards the outermost circumference inside the tyre. By turning into foam, Caffélatex tends to fill the entire internal tyre cavity, remaining available and effective even in the event of a sidewall puncture. Caffélatex returns to its liquid state after approximately 15 minutes at rest.

Lifespan

Compared with other “latex-like” sealants, Caffélatex is very stable and long-lasting, although its lifespan is strongly influenced by the tyre type.

Using the recommended quantity for the tyre size / type, the expected lifespan of Caffélatex is:

• Tubular tyre (Caffélatex injected into the latex or butyl inner tube, not TPU): up to 1 year
• Tubeless UST tyre: 2-6 months
• Tubeless-ready tyre: 1-4 months
• Tubular-type tyre: 1-3 months

As we cannot know the specific conditions (wheel / tyre type, tyre thickness and porosity, outside temperature and humidity, bicycle storage conditions…), we recommend checking Caffélatex every 2 months to ensure it is liquid and can therefore provide preventive puncture protection.

When the liquid has dried, wheels sealed with Caffélatex remain airtight, but Caffélatex will no longer actively seal punctures.

Non-toxic, non-corrosive, non-allergenic

Caffélatex contains no ammonia or other aggressive chemicals: this also makes it the preferred sealant for cyclocross / tubular tyre applications, as it does not damage delicate latex inner tubes.

WARNING: aluminium rim oxidation can occur due to the sealant's water content, and occurs when the metal surface is not painted / anodised or covered by a rim strip or tubeless tape.

As its formula is synthetic, Caffélatex does not trigger allergic reactions in people allergic to natural rubber latex products.

Advice and temperatures for use and storage

Operating temperatures: -20 / + 50 ° C
Storage temperatures: -15 / + 30 ° C

Caffélatex has a lifespan of 2 years from first opening the bottle, provided the bottle is properly closed and stored away from direct sunlight, and the storage temperature remains within the range indicated above.

To check whether the liquid in a bottle of Caffélatex still works, even long after first opening:

• the liquid should have a uniform viscosity (no solid pieces or obvious separation between thinner and thicker liquid);
• The 10-second test: wet your thumb and index finger with liquid Caffélatex, press it between the two fingers for ten seconds, then release: if it starts to form a solid layer, it still works properly.
